The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) is hosting a webinar on Thursday, July 30, on the topic of business interruption and lost rents. The goal is to provide actionable, intelligent information about using insurance products to mitigate net operating income loss after a disaster.

The guest presenter, R. Scott deLuise, CCIM, CPPA, SPPA, President and Chief Executive Officer of Adjusters International/Matrix Business Consulting, will present, “Basic Facts: Business Interruption/Lost Rents Insurance, Tips, Trends and Traps,” highlighting the circumstances surrounding commercial property insurance covering loss of income suffered by property owners.

The webinar will help attendees learn:

  • Overview of business interruption insurance to better serve their clients,
  • How to understand forms, compute losses, provide a review of basic terminology and present the importance of timelines and the necessity of detailed record-keeping,
  • Industry intelligence regarding COVID-19 claim trends,
  • Impact of damage occurring from vandalism,
  • Topics of law and ordinance; and
  • How civil authority insurance may be able to assist brokers, owners and property managers in reducing net operating income loss, thereby stabilizing or increasing property values.

 


More About R. Scott deLuise

deLuise has acted as lead adjuster and manager for public adjusting teams on large, complex losses all over the country and is licensed as a public adjuster in 29 states.
